Hey guys I've been really excited to tell you about my oppertunity to work on Ridley Scott's new Robin Hood film.

I've just spent a week working behind the camera on the new Robin Hood film. I got this oppertunity because the gaffer working on the film is a family friend and so I had the oppertunity to go and work with the camera department.

I wasn't doing anything glamerous, just generally running for the camera crew, but I did manage to get my hands on a few Arri camera's and some really great panavision lenses including the new elite panavision lens. There using 9 cameras on the film which takes a while to set up but you can complete a scene so fast. I also got to hold a 30 foot crane in place which was very cool, it weren't while we were shooting, and yes the lenses and cameras a very heavy, as well as the block camera batteries and film mags.

I got to work under the cinematographer John Mathieson who is truely a fantastic guy. We were shooting in the same woods where the beginning of Gladiator was shot, they built a small town there. We also shot on another location in which we were up to our knee's in mud and clay.

Now here is a little story that you guys will like:

I got to base at about 07:00 o'clock got some breakfast and a cup of tea and started to load film mags and lenses onto the back of the pickup. I turned around to go back to the main camera truck and I saw a dead body lying on the plastic pathway that was set out. I began to walk over when someone came over and picked the body up, they hauled to body onto the back of the prosthetic pick-up truck where it landed on a pile of silcone prosthetic dead bodies. Now these dummies weren't just any old dummies, the detail was amazing, some of them were different build, some were young, some were old, some had yellow rotting teeth, I was in my glory.

I got to meet Russell Crowe. He is such a lovely guy, he's quite a gentleman and very down to earth, just goes to show how much the media has an effect on peoples opinions.

I also met Kevin Durand who you will know from Lost and Smokin Aces. Also a very lovely down to earth guy, he helped prevent me falling on top of a mound that the camera was positioned on.

Now the most amazing thing that happened to me was when I was doing an order for coffee and tea for the camera guys and William Hurt came up to me and started chatting. He asked me my name and what I was doing, introduced himself and started having a normal conversation.

It was so surreal to actually be talking to all these actors that I look up to. I was so well looked after on set and everyone were grand. I can't say enough good things about them, they were all very genuine and caring.

It was a very hard week and it was tiring but very rewarding, I may be working on Chris Nolan's latest film Inception, I'll probably be working on the camera side, also once he's finished Inception he may be working on the 3rd Batman in which I might have work for that.

This week has been such a great week and its good to know that I could have more work especially on a Chris Nolan film.
