PC's aren't unstable. Just far far more people USE PC's, so there are more accounts of it freezing up, or having stability issues, because more people, are using them in a wider margin of hardware, in a wider number of configurations. So it's just about by default going to deal with more problems.

And... how does a Mac do those things "better". I can use Firefox on both PC's and Mac's.

I can use iTunes on both PC's and Mac's.

And i've used iMovie, and while it's a little better than Windows Movie Maker, why would I be concerned with utilizing either? It's like comparing canned peaches to canned apples, both of them work with making a dessert, but both, really taste like crap.

So the one thing that Mac is slightly better at, is still crappy, and not something that would be utilized by professionals.

And there is one thing that PC's can do that Mac's can't, games, Mac's get a handful of good games, but PC's have almost all of them.

Also, there is MORE professional software for the PC than the Mac simply because more people use PC's professionally.

And not to mention that games can have a variety of neurological benefits, including increased hand eye coordination, increased memory retention, improved pattern recognition, better mechanic operation skills, mental telescoping improvement, multi-tasking training, stress management, improvement on a variety of problem solving skills, and improved spatial recognition, among other benefits.

They can be just as neurologically stimulating as reading good literature, and in fact can be lumped in with film as a "Meta-art", or an artform that can incorporate all other art forms into it.

Once my iPod video completely died on me. So I went to buy a new one. But I saw the Zune and thought that it would be awesome (bigger screen right?), plus the dude from Radio Shack was like "I think the Zune is better." So I bought the Zune. Well I used it for about a week. It sucked compared to my old iPod. The dimmer mode almost completely turns off the screen. Where on the iPod you can still see whats on the screen. I couldn't plug it into my computer and listen to music directly off it like I could on my iPod. I like to save space on my computer so I put all my music on my iPod burn the files to a DVD then delete them from my computer. Then just listen to the music off my Ipod on my computer. It was HUGE. It was annoying to carry in my pocket. I couldnt organize my music as well or as easy as I could with my iPod. So I returned it and got a new iPod. Thats just my opinion I'll go with iPod over any video/mp3 device any day.

However yeah you can get 30 gb 1st gen Zune for cheap as hell now. I haven't played with the new Zune yet, but I don't really care to.

Well I've tried a zune and radio does not work at all. I couldn't even get the whole zune to TURN OFF!!!! It kept freezing and it was brand new. My father's friend just bought it, and I didn't know how I could help him because I already knew it was a piece of crap (looks like one too...colors..) But unfortunately, I couldn't help him.


That's my opinion...and billions of others...we don't like zunes, and microsoft products and microsoft itself.

i like my ipod, i've had it for 2 years and i've never had a problem with it. i actually have an even older one must be 4 or 5 years old, i only got a new one because the whole video thing showed up and i like that alot, but the old one still holds up fine too. its that old one with 4 buttons, not even a color screen.

the zune just seems shabby to me, and the ipod is sleek, the zune might have nicer, better, or more featrues or whatever, but the ipod has a huge fan base because its the ipod.

No, all of those achievements doesn't matter, all that matters is that you hate a faceless company. It doesn't matter that countless engineers, and software developers have jobs creating the Zune. Firstly, the Ipod is smaller and, yes, does not look as much like a box made from waste plastic.

Secondly, I like to keep my music to myself, thanks. and I would HATE having requests popping up asking to share music every time I see someone else with a PMP.

Thirdly, The whole reason the Zune was created was to combat the ipod, Microsoft was scared, apple had just conquered the PMP market and Mirosoft was afraid that Apple would use some of their flawless features on their Macs, which could cause a massive rise in the sale of Macs, or, less money for Microsoft.

I can see some great features in the Zune, but Microsoft isn't meant for the PMP market.

Yea, they have updated the software and made it better more than once.

Apple does the same thing with iPod's.

And, more than Apple has made their products more than one color. The multi-colored products can be traced back to stuff like the Sony Walkman back in the 80's, who promoted the Wallkman by offering new colors, just like the iPod.

So the "idea" of offering your product in more than one color isn't something that Microsoft stole from Apple, it's something that Sony did for portable music players, that Apple also used, and everyone else has been doing for decades. It's nothing new.

Also, if you have problem with custome limited editions, Apple has done the same thing with stuff like the U2 iPod. Once again, nothing new in that department, so if you want to judge Microsoft for doing it, then you've got to judge Apple just as harshly.

Which once again can be traced back to old Walkman's, who also offered promotional versions of their music players.

And iPod's get just as scratched up, I don't know what kind of magic iPod you have, but mine is all scratched up, it's because I used it for a long time before it's harddrive and battery failed.

It's a status symbol, and there are so many other (cheaper) alternatives out there. I have a Creative Zen Vision:M and it kicks the iPod's ass.

Wow, i friggin love you WesScog, the Zune is an amazing device that way too many people overlook. The Zune is just all around funner than the ipod. The iPod is just straight up conformist and boring. Think about how many people just buy the ipod to put 10 songs onto it and forget about it. Nobody does that with the zune. People get the zune because they know its amazing and they actually want to use it. The iPod is also gross, everytime i pick one up all i get is the greases and fingerprints from the last person who used it, not to mention scratches all over it. Whatever the hell they make the zune with, it will not leave a single fingerprint or scratch on it. What's also funny is how everyone was calling the zune the supposed "ipod killer" when Bill Gates wasn't even trying to do that at all, he just wanted to give people another option. To turn off the Zune all you have to do is hold the play button.

It connects to Vista now since the last update fine.

It syncs with my music fine.

And my iPod, while it gave me plenty of wonderful service, had both the battery and the hard drive fail, and Apple refused to repair it.

Now it's finally covered under an extended warrenty for an additional 60 dollars when you buy your iPod.

Basically comparing Zunes and Ipods is apples and oranges. Ipods are a massive brand with tonnes of different products, accessories, and heavy marketing. They're basically Apple's main deal these days.

PC's aren't unstable. Just far far more people USE PC's, so there are more accounts of it freezing up, or having stability issues, because more people, are using them in a wider margin of hardware, in a wider number of configurations. So it's just about by default going to deal with more problems.

And... how does a Mac do those things "better". I can use Firefox on both PC's and Mac's.

I can use iTunes on both PC's and Mac's.

And i've used iMovie, and while it's a little better than Windows Movie Maker, why would I be concerned with utilizing either? It's like comparing canned peaches to canned apples, both of them work with making a dessert, but both, really taste like crap.

So the one thing that Mac is slightly better at, is still crappy, and not something that would be utilized by professionals.

And there is one thing that PC's can do that Mac's can't, games, Mac's get a handful of good games, but PC's have almost all of them.

Also, there is MORE professional software for the PC than the Mac simply because more people use PC's professionally.


PC's are also attacked by different malicious code hundreds or thousands of times an hour. As one Wired reporter deftly put it, "Taking down Microsoft is the geek equivalent to Luke blowing up the Death Star."
Apple does not have to deal with that problem
