Thanks for this great forum. This is my first post to the forum and I wonder what you people think.
Why people use Twitter? What motivates people to use Twitter? Any ideas? It’s about news or comments?

It's Facebook minus everything but status updates. Lots of celebrities and well-known reality stars are on there; I only signed up to stalk Anderson Cooper's updates.

HAHAHA! You too!? I <3 AC, but I was unaware he was on twitter. It seems sort of uncharacteristic. What is it? I've got to see it.
Anyway, I've wondered the same thing. One of my friends told me about his twitter so I checked it out, and it was literally stuff like "Cleanin' out the catbox.LOL."
All the stuff out of Iran is cool, though. And apparantly people who sign up for twitter post once, realize how pointless it is and never return (http://www.slate.com/id/2219995/).
cause its friggen addictive

I started to just follow people...then you post once and people follow you. You either never post again or it snowballs and you start posting more and more often.

Because actually stalking celebrities in real life is too hard.

Honestly I don't understand it, its just dumb. I just see it as a giant advertising gimmick. Facebook is much better.

I do not know why anybody cares what a celeb is doing each and everyday. Live your life don't read others lives.
the person above me has much to learn about teh interwebz

I think Twitter's pretty great. You get to read about a lot of interesting people, get reccomedations for novels, films, etc.
