How to film airsoft as real war?

I'm planning a short movie, probably under 2 minutes in length, where I plan to film a bunch of people playing airsoft. The catch, however, is that I want it to seem like it is real warfare, and at the end reveal that it was only a game.

I have some ideas on how to portray this, but I would appreciate your thoughts.

Add mussle flashes, sound and some colour filters will do the job.

EDIT: If you guns have those orange tip paint them black or what ever colour the gun is.

Yes, I've already decided on adding muzzle flashes, sound effects, and messing with the color. One thing I wasn't sure about was the goggles. You need to wear them for airsoft but that would be a dead give away that it wasn't real war...so I guess these airsofters are just dangerous little bastards unless anyone else has a better idea

People wear Goggles in real warfare. It's not paintball masks, but ballistic goggles are common, especially in areas with a lot of dust getting kicked up like in Iraq.

I play airsoft, a lot. One thing that really makes it unrealistic, is A, the noise, and B, unmatching uniforms. try to make everyone wear the same camo, and enemies wear civilian clothing (for whereever they are, if it's guerilla warfare) ACU, MARpat, whatever. If you're playing woodland, be picky about what war you want to make it seem like. Iraq simply won't do. If you have a desert, or a shore, and than you're really good to go. Shores can be used as an infiltration of a place, and is very generalized.

Watch out when filming in the woods if you run with the camera or just walk you may fall over a tree or a bump and i know it you camera doesn't gona like it.

It's best not to use airsoft guns but I do see hey alot of people have them so lets use them.

I'd keep the tips orange and film at angles where you don't see the orange until you want to unveil that it is airsoft.

Maybe an idea for the end.

-Guy 1 gets shot down
-Guy 2 walks to him
-Guy 2 points gun at Guy 1
-Camera at Guys 2 face, guy 2 looks like he want to shoot
-Camera at Guy 1 Guy one is scarred and closes his eyes
-Guy 2 stops aiming put's his gun away and gives guy 1 a hand and help him get up
-Both guys walk away camera stays behind them while they walk
-Text appears: ''Airsoft, It's only a game''

(Guy 1 and Guy 2 can also be Girl 1 or 2)

It's just an idea maybe you can do something with it.
