It's not worldwide news -yet (It is national), but 3 fires are raging in the okanagan valley. For those unfamiliar with that location, it is about 2 or 3 hours from the border, (Canada/US).
A few days ago 3 fires started on the same day. One in West Kelowna, One on Terrace Mountain, and one in Rose Valley. Though the west Kelowna and Rose valley fires are closer to being contained, The terrace mountain fire still burns at around 4000 hectares (double what it was Wed. night) 4000 hectares equates to about 40 square kilometers.
The whole valley is locked in a chamber of smoke. When I woke this morning, ash layered parts of my deck. I just thought I would bring it up, and wish luck to the many firefighters fighting this blaze and keeping B.C.'s residents safe!
