View Full Version : Consent forms?

I have a question about an issue I just thought of. My church did this mission blitz thing, where we went out in town for 4 hours and did random acts of kindness. It was really fun, but that's not the point. We took lots of pics, and we had someone who even video recorded some peoples responses and stuff, and did some post interviews after it was all over. We're making a montage, with the videos mixed in, and we do plan to send to other churches as a demonstration, as this is going to be a annual (or Bi-Annual as the case my be)and get other churches involved. I was wondering, would we need those people to sign consent forms or something? I know when we had a news crew out at the theater, none of us had to sign anything, I guess it was implied by even being there or something.

I guess it could fall under the journalism section. In which I don't think you'd need to have consent forms. Honestly though, people do church videos all the time and unless it's a super production mega church, most don't get people to sign forms.

Idk, did these people know that they were being interviewed for the church? If i found out that a church was displaying footage of me without a consent form, i would sue the shit out of them, but thats just me, im super anti-church.

Dude, I'd go to Production Church. That would rock.
You can get them to sign, but it's a technicality just in case.
Advice: If you're doing on-the-spot interviews, do what stringers do and have them spell their names on camera. Makes lower thirds easy.
