Okay , i just got a Redrock M2 (love it) and i tried setting it up but my HV20 can't focus with the zoom because there is to much distance between the achromat and ground glass. So i took everything off and the 55mm UV filter that goes on the back of the adapter came off with my 72mm to 55mm step down ring. So i just went "Oh , I'll just screw it off" but the damned thing won't come off! I got another step up ring stuck on to another and i slipped my vice grip over it with a clothe on the filter so i wouldn't scratch it and i came right off. But when i try to take this one off it will not come off! I tried everything. I heated it , froze it , put it under warm water , unscrew it with slight pressure , i put a rubber band on it and twisted them , i put it in my vice and twisted it and still nothing! And to make things worse i dropped it and the UV glass fell and shattered so i had to cut part of the threads off to get a piece of broken glass out so i wouldn't cut my self. I've had everyone in my family take a crack at it and it still won't come off. The only option i can see is to throw it away and buy a hard mount kit from Redrock but i have about a month to save up $100 so i can buy a set of Indirails to shoot with it in Alaska so putting down $35 for a hard mount kit is not such a great idea when it's so close away. Also the only camera store around me is wolf camera so i don't know if they sell filter wrenches since there stock is horrible.

Thank you to anyone who can help me because i think I'm starting to go mental with this.

Keep trying to heat it up. Lol. That's all I can tell you.

I had this exact same problem. Get a large rubber band, put it around the filter, and begin to slowly turn. If that doesn't work, go on over to Home Depot and pick up a rubber plumbers cloth. Put it around the stuck the filter, and turn.

Other than that :( Hope you get it fixed man.

I tried that but it didn't work. Also i put it in my vice and put the rubber around the step up rings and it still didn't budge. Redrock HQ is 15 minutes from my house and there shipping center is 20 minutes so i think buying a hard mount kit would be fast. I may buy it after i get my rails.

Yeah seriously. Don't buy anything. It you didn't do anything to it then it's a malfunction on with their product. Go there and tell that to them.

The only thing about that is since the lens broke, they could just say it's stuck due to him dropping it. Try spraying some WD40 into it or some penetrating oil.
