i'm looking in to perhaps buying adobe after effects for mac
and i am new to after effects
i am currently editing in final cut express 4,which is not ideal for compositing effects-but it can do it.
so i thought to myself - what is this after effects people speak of-so i looked on the website and don't know whats what.
so what i need to know is which is the best version to download
where can i get it from-do i download it from the internet or do i buy it off amazon or something-is it available for mac?
and where do you recommend getting it for mac

You can download a trial off the abode website to try it out, and if you buy it from the adobe website you can choose a download option (its £1000)

If you can qualify for a discount (https://store2.adobe.com/cfusion/store/html/index.cfm?event=displayEduConditions&store=OLS-EDU-UK) you can get after effects for £425 (or the Production premium (which has after effects, premiere pro, photoshop and more) for £225). But it has to be shipped to you.

You can always check eBay (http://computers.shop.ebay.co.uk/items/_W0QQ_dmptZUKQ5fComputingQ5fSoftwareQ5fSoftwareQ5f SR?_nkw=after+effects+mac&_sacat=18793&_trksid=p3286.m270.l1313&_odkw=after+effects&_osacat=18793) for older versions of after effects, the only ones there currently for Mac are the newest on but its cheaper than buying it from adobe.

You should get Adobe after effects cs4 as this is the newest version. The best place to purchase it is from adobe's website, when you buy it I think it asks you which version (mac or windows) you want.

Watch the basic training tutorials and you will get a better idea of how to use it, and what does what.

Once you get past the learning curve, like Final Cut, it gets very easy.

it's easyer then it looks, watch the basic training and you're almost ready.

It's kindoff hard to go from FCP to AE at first though..

I just watched the Video Copilot tutorials. And after about 15 (plus watching more in the past) I seemed to get the hang of everything.
