There's alot of nice people on youtube, but there's alot of jerks too. If you don't like negative comments, you could always delete them of your profile/videos.
PS i'm totally nice...check out my youtube profile. (link below)

How on earth would your mom stop you? I'm not saying to sneak around her, but I have no idea how your mother would be able to scour youtube looking for your vids.
also, you can disable comments for your videos on youtube if you're worried about people "not being nice".

Smack that biyatch upside the head!
No, seriously. You really shouldn't let your mother baby you. As long as you're confident you can take criticisms, which is something you'll have to do eventually.
Surgeon's Law applies: 90% of the comments on Youtube are crud. You can disable comments if you'd rather.

Yeah, what authority does your mom really have anyway?

Probably iMDB, simply because there are more adults there and yet they are just as stupid as most youtube commenters.

Okay, so Bring your mother to this very thread and show her this.
Dear Bubble Fax's mother
I have heard that you don't want your child posting his video that he made on you tube with his friends. I can see why you want this. Well, because there are many scary stories about children uploading videos of themselves on the internet, and scary people. Sure, theres a lot of different people on the internet, because there is tonnes of different people in the world.
Now, i don't know your child very much, they only thing i know of him/her is that they left a nice compliment on my video which i made last week. I imagine that your child is not very old, considering that he's not old enough to upload the video that he made on the internet. But, i imagine his video, is just some of his friends and him, having some fun and making some jokes, well its probably a fake fight movie, most of my vids were like that when i was his age. But, what i am trying to get at is the audience that his video is aimed at. Im positive his video isn't one of him showing off his hew short shorts that he bought, or using offending language. He's most likely to upload his video and then just E-mail the link to some of his friends from school or something so they can see how much fun they had faking a fight or making some jokes.
I really think that it is sort of like putting a lid on your son's/ daughter's/ creativity by not allowing him/her to receive some views.
So to sum this up, you can feel free to check out my youtube channel. I imagine im not too much older than your son/daughter, im 15 years old and i get a sarcastic comment once in a while, but its nothing to worry about because i just check out their youtube channel, and they haven't even uploaded any videos most of the time, i laugh because i think that they havent been able to expand their creativity enough so they just choose to put others down to make themselves feel good, it doesn't bother me at all, and im guessing, i have no idea, but i bet you if you asked your son/daughter if it would hurt their feelings if someone left a misleading comment on their video if it would upset them or hurt them? Im guessing he/she would say "not at all"
I just ask you to think of it through his / her eyes. Videos take a lot of work, but it pays off 100% for me when i show people them and i find out that they liked them. :hayguyz:
Think about it,
I leave this message to you because your son/daughter had left a nice comment on my romeo and juliet video when no one else did.
dont forget to scan my videos for any really mean comments.
Best of luck Bubblefax

First, let me say that you should try to work within your mother's rules. Try to change her mind rather than sneaking around behind her back. It'll be more usefull in the long run, and get you less punished. Once you are ready to move out and support yourself, you can do whatever you like: post on youtube, write terrible poetry, buy yourself a llama, or douse yourself with gasoline and take up smoking. As long as she is feeding and sheltering you, she really does have veto rights on whatever you want to do.
Youtube really isn't any sort of a great danger. The only thing somebody could do is send you a message or leave a comment for you. If you want to convince your mother to give you the latitude to have a youtube account, you need a demonstrate that you can handle that. That basically boild down to two things: that you can handle somebody speaking harshly about your work, and that you can deal with being chatted up by a liar, scammer, cheat, pedophile, or other miscellaneous hooligan..
