I would like to make my animation which I'm going to do come to life and be in the shot with me, I have most of my blue screen set up, but I need some really cheap clamp lights to go onto the back board to have an even lit area, any help on finding some cheap clamp lights would be a great help. Also what is the best way of setting up a "stage" for stop motion animation?

What kind of stop-motion are you doing? Clay? Puppets?

Its clay.

If you're doing a lot of lighting with clay puppets, it's really important that you build an armature for the puppet because otherwise the clay will melt. Also, to smooth out fingerprints you can use a little bit of baby oil on your fingers and it will rub smooth really easily.

What we (in the US) call a hardware store is probably very different than it s in the UK, so maybe this is the wrong place to look but you must have a place local that sells bits like nuts and bolts and screws and misc stuff for home repair. This is most likely the place where you can locate a inexpensive clamp-on light, or they will be able to steer you in the right direction.

Well from when I went to School I did a bit of claymation there, and my teacher gave us a hand out on how to make an an armature, so I will use that to help. And cheers for the information on the fingerprints, its annoying when you have finger prints all over it and it doesn't look so smooth.

Hehe thanks for that, luckily for me I will be going to Plymouth with a few of my mates next weekend, so I will check it out then.

They had some nice LED tap lights at Target, probably still have them. I know this isn't exactly what you're looking for, but the price wasn't that bad, three for $5. They also have double-stick tape on the back so you can attach it anywhere. Is there even a Target in the UK?
