Sony "HDV" Tapes

Do you have to use these to shoot with HDV mode? Can you use a normal DV tape. Also, What's the difference between HDV and DVCAM mode.

I asked the same thing a few months back when I got my HV40. Basically, there is no difference between the two tapes. MiniDV will work just fine.

ahh. thanks for that. I've been wondering about that for a while. Never bothered to test it since i haven't had the time to haha. Guess i'll go have a play in HDV mode now :)
