im making a short film involving nuclear war, and i was wondering if anyone knew where i could find some royalty free music that sounds kinda like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQIos4x96Yo
the eerie subtle vocal track kind of thing, i checked incompetech and couldnt quite find what i was looking for, (but perhaps i skipped over it)

The problem with royalty free music is, it's not normally free. Typically you have to pay a one off up front payment, you just don't pay the royalties each time you use the track in future.

As already suggested maybe try searching google, or even these forums, for example at top of Your Projects there's a thread called Free Music Project (http://forum.indymogul.com/showthread.php?t=24199&highlight=free+music), this thread actually has some free music, all you have to do is credit the author.

I am not able to check youtube at work but have you looked at Sonic Fire Pro? The videocopilot link is for sound effects. The post specifically says music score.

Sonic Fire Pro provides fantastic 100% royalty free score music, Not sound FX, and is very customizable.

I would strongly urge you to NOT look for this software on bit torrent sites. I have seen it on there but it is illegal to download software via bit torrents in this manner.

Take a look at my last video on my youtube page the one with the abominable snowman. The music in the background was simply dropped onto my footage with no additional modification. This was one of many many many score options that sonic fire pro provides.

Wow. That site is pretty cool and you can download quite a few samples to see what it is all about.

Good call Treasureboxfilms.

Go here:

Although, if you have a pc it won;t help much.
Then search for videos with the music you want, and download them. Then grab the soundtrack in your video editor, and your done. It may possibly be illegal, but I don't actually know.
