Like the name of the thread says...

Mine is Quentin Tarantino. The guy is a genius. Pulp Fiction is the greatest movie ever made!

I disagree, Reservoir Dogs is better.

Resevoir Dogs is awesome as well, but it's no Pulp Fiction, daddy-oh!

Wes Anderson, hand's down, few people's movies I can just watch over and over and still laugh at them so hard.

And his cinematography and composition is beautiful, the color, just everything about them.

His movies are amazing, and woefully under appreciated.

Definitely the Coen Brothers (The Ladykillers and maybe Intolerable Cruelty notwithstanding). They jump from genre to genre, but there's always this "thing" that tells you "this is a Coen Brothers film".

Sergio Leone. Stanley Kubrick. Alfred Hitchcock.

I love a good deal of the modern directors, too. I just feel that there are some people who got cinema, these three men are a few of these men. Weither it be for capturing the beauty of the natural landscape, making contriversial yet highly acclaimed films, or getting the timing just right, these men pulled it off and I love them for it.

David Fincher and Quentin Tarantino are my top 2. But Robert Rodriguez is close, he's the bigger--than-my-budget independent film maker.

what about Martin Scorsese! Probably the greatest living director! Also Fernando Meirelles for City Of God, Shane Meadows (This Is England, Dead Mans Shoes) and of course Kurosawa (Seven Samurai, Ran) and Sam Peckinpah (Straw Dogs, Wild Bunch)!

I wouldnt say I have a favorite director, but I am partial to the films of the Coen Bros, Wes Anderson, and the early films of Guy Riche...and about a million others.

There is a staggering amount of talent out there...its just a shame we get alot of fluff at the box office.

I'm not sure I could pick favorite directors. That is extremely difficult, but these are the ones (in order) that influence me the most.

1) Darren Aronofsky
2) Jean-Pierre Junet
3) Jared Hess
4) Peter Jackson
5) Stanley Kubrick
6) Chan-Wook Park (mainly just because of Old Boy)
7) Alfonso Cuarón
8) Alfred Hitchcock
9) Tim Burton
10) Gore Verbinski (simply because of his amazing range)

Dario Argento is pretty amazing, but my films aren't really influenced by his. And a few of martin scorsese's are pretty awesome as well, but again, not influenced that heavily by them.

I am extremely heavily influenced by Little Miss Sunshine and Garden State (those are pretty much the two comedies I aspire to) however, since both of those directors haven't really done anything else, I can't really say that those people are huge influences.

I have seen Star Trek which is one of his films. Also i see directors as a person not as a company. If you treat them like Company's i guess i could see why the products that they produce is what people base them off of but i see them as a person and as people i like Robert and Jeffery.
