OK...

Well I've just been having a crappy school week. To start, I've been having to walk a half mile from school, and I live in Michigan, and it's FREEZING. Then I get to school and I have to sit for hours doing the same thing I've been doing for half a year already. I have to read someone else's essay in language arts (12 pages of made up hockey stats) and then have someone else read my paper and how I want to be an "Eindee" movie director and then go to the next class and be informed how much I suck at basketball (it's true, I do suck, but I don't like being told), then going to all these other classes where we just sit...and sit... and sit... It's so boring, it doesn't sound like much, but it is just indescribably boring. I don't know, a lot of it is hard to explain, but there's just something so FRUSTRATING about it all.

I know a lot of you have it a lot worse, but to me it's more mental than anything, just the whole routine...

Don't take everything you read here for advice. A lot of people start with pot and then want "more" and work their way on to dangerous drugs. Just don't do it, it's not good. Marijuana may not have a huge effect on you, but the drugs it leads to will.

What a week! I've had douche-bag customers galore! Christmas may be the best time in retail for sales and profit and all that but it's also the worst time to deal with customers. Everyone is, totally understandably, stressed out... their kids want a Nintendo DS... a blue one, convinently the ONE colour Nintendo's told us will be sold out 'till mid January, oh and it's apparently MY fault!

Guh, I've only just opened so there's sure to be more posts coming throughout the day...

My ex-ex-girlfriends brother is a good example, a sad one, but good. He was the most unassuming guy you'd ever meet, quiet but friendly, studied heaps, didn't go out much, but smart as hell.

Well, save for the one night where he tried pot from his so-called 'best friend' during his 17th bday down at the beach. Walked himself off a cliff, didn't die but he suffered serious spinal injury and now can't walk without support.

Sorry if I sound like a anti-drug commercial, but seriously, that shit fucks you up... even after "just one time".

It's not really that bad. There have been like 2 reported cases on the planet of ever getting like lung cancer from it. The only real thing that it does which can be harmful is to make you less interested in education and stuff. It helps you to stop caring. But as for your lungs one thing that our drug ed teacher said is "if you use a vaporizer, it's not bad for you, and otherwise, it's not that bad either". If you do it once in a while, it doesn't really do much. Oh but don't drive while high, it does slow your reaction time.
P.S. I don't smoke, and I'm not just trying to protect marijuana.

Alcohol is pretty bad for you, it can cause long term liver damage and it's addictive. You don't get that going on with pot though. Really it's all scare tactics.

Drugs are like any other thing in life - they only fuck you up if you're stupid about them. Using "drugs" as a blanket statement is silly anyway.

Antibiotics are drugs, caffiene is drugs, cocaine is drugs.

Everything can fuck you up if you're stupid and go too far with it. Driving - okay. Driving while using a cell phone - kind of stupid. Driving while blindfolded? Incredibly stupid. And it's your own fault if you fuck up and crash, not "driving"'s fault. Playing World of Warcraft - okay. Playing World of Warcraft so much you won't even leave you room to go to the bathroom - not okay.

Mentally I classify things into "recreational drugs" which are safe if used properly such as pot, shrooms, and LSD and "bad drugs" which are addictive and horrible for you such as meth, cocaine, heroin, PCP, etc.

In my own life the drug that's most fucked me up is caffiene. I am literally addicted to it.

If I go more than 12 hours without it I'll get massive headaches, body aches, lose all my energy, and turn into Oscar the Grouch. Every time I've tried quitting I've had ZERO motivation and energy. So really, legalise the shit out of marijuana but BAN CAFFIENE.

From losing my wallet (visa, license, debit card, etc) and dropping my new phone (brand new 3 year contract) and having it snap in half... I thought the worst was over.

On Saturday I was filming some test footage to work on for editing tests that I'd be using on more serious work later. I decided to go for the whole nine yards... bring all my equipment (camera, audio equipment, support rig, matte box, follow focus, tripods, lighting equipment, etc, etc)... well in the 5 thousand dollar range.

Everything is nice and neat in black equipment bags and a few stainless steel hard cases in the back of my GMC Suburban... now this is a 95 turbo diesel, with a lot of rust damage on the underbody and a fuel module that overheats and makes the truck stall if it isn't start properlly.

I also had two spare modules in my truck (spares that run about $490 CAD each)... I decided to go catch a 7pm showing of Pineapple Express (very funny) and when I came back... my truck was stolen... it was parked beside about 5 2008+ vehicles that would be worth about double or even triple my sub.

So that was gay.

Today I get a call saying my truck had been recovered. I got to the autopac place and went in to the back (which is basically a wasteland of written off vehicles and recovered stolen vehicles.. they're arranged in aisles and I was given a little map at the front gates to where my baby is resting.

I got to it and opened the driver side door... I notice the modules are gone... I then peek inside my little divider compartment between the driver and passenger seat and see my loose change holder is ripped out. I then notice my MP3 player... after closer inspection I see one of the modules sitting underneath the passenger seat (one must've fallen and the thief was probably in a hurry... the truck must've stalled).

My overnight bag that was on the back seat was gone, but then I went around back and opened it up... not only was my overnight bag there (albeit torn open and my clothes are tossed everywhere (thank god I keep my valuables on me)... but ALL my film equipment was there, completely untouched.

What a week.

It's not like that though. Caffiene isn't a primary carcinogen like marijuana. Also, alcohol's side effects on the brain and body are far worse than caffiene.
