Has anybody noticed how resilient babies are. It's amazing!
Look, http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/india/6274383/Newborn-baby-falls-through-train-toilet-onto-tracks.html
WTF!?
I've been seeing stuff about babies falling from 9 story buildings and surviving and crazy shit like that.
I mean, I'm glad. But isn't it kinda weird?

I call BS. For one, I've heard this story before, as in a few years ago, and two, I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure woman in labor don't just "poop" their babies out into toilets. Correct me if I'm wrong, but ladies, is there not a long period of contractions increasing in both number and intensity until childbirth, which is itself an ordeal hours long?

USUALLY. Keyword is USUALLY.
You'll get the odd person who, for some reason, goes through labour REALLY fast. Also mothers who have had a child already tend to go through the process much faster in later births.
Plus, in the last final moments before crowning (when the head is about to come out) the baby will actually start to put pressure on nerves in the region, the same nerves that, uh, control the feeling that you gotta 'go'. So a new mother who doesn't know what to expect may in fact think that they need to go.
edit: not a lady, this info comes from medical training.
