Been runnng the RC since August. I'd love to see what's different (if anything) in the production version! Adobe won't officially support it yet, though... So I'm gonna wait to upgrade my edit box until then.

I've been hearing mixed things about windows 7. From PC fanboys I have heard that it is the best thing since sliced bread, but from Mac folks I hear that it just copies the mac interface and still inferior. I would appreciate a non biased review, especially from a filmmaking stand point.

I use Adobe Premiere CS4 on a Vista machine. From what I've seen with the Win7 RC, the OS moves a lot faster than Vista. It's supposedly not as bloated as Vista. It boots much faster that Visat or XP, but aside from that (behind the scenes stuff) and some interface tweaks that "cool" it up some, I think it's basically Vista but without the major headaches. As soon as Adobe and Matrox say they've got Win7 support (hopefully 64 bit), then I'll test it from a filmmaking standpoint. Right now, best guess, is that I'll see some speed differences with how the programs are handled, but the workflow won't change.

it is nothing like mac's docking system
it is so fast, takes about 7 seconds for a restart
and the docking for the windows are so easy to use, that i had up to 79 windows open and it didn't lag or freeze once
i am very please with it
as for drivers and programs, all mine worked with it and didn't have one problem...they might be on to something here

I'm still using Vista. it's a pain, but I'm used to it by now. this computer I'm on had it already installed, I'm pretty sure by the time I get a new one they'll have 7 preloadedon em.
