What can I make out of this? - Old Telescope

Hey indymogul and forum users,

i found an old telescope ( complete with tripod) on my attic, and i was wondering what i could make out of this... perhaps some
everything-destroyin'-gun-cannon-thing prop, but i have no concrete ideas yet.
