Hey everyone,
So I just got ahold of an 8 mm camera and some film.
I know how to work the camera and such as I've read the manual and dry run it numerous times.
I only have one question. Is it alright to load the film into the magazine when there is light? Should I use a darkroom or a dark room esque thing?

No. Just go into a bathroom, close the door, and turn off the light.
If you're going to be out in the field changing magazines, you need to invest in a changing tent.

It doesn't need to be totally dark because even just subdued light is perfectly fine and don't know if you know this but you can load 8mm into your camera twice.
Film on side than load it again and shoot the other side of the film.

Ok thanks guys that real helps.
Can you really load it twice?
You load it twice if you have standard 8mm, not if you have Super 8. But Super 8 film is easier to find, so that's probably what you have.
added: Wikipedia explains enough about each format that you should be able to tell which you have:

Killkhan, does your camera accept reels or cartridges?

It takes reels
If it's reels, we can rule out Super 8.
You said you read the manual. It didn't say anything in there about using both sides of the film?

I was unaware that you could load and unload in subdued light. I had always been told that any light, even just the tiniest bit, when unloading will cause differences in the film.

It's best to load in as dark as possible, Subdued is generally OK, but will still ruin a segment of film, and potentially cause fogging around the edges of the frame depending on the length of time it is exposed.
It's best to get it as dark as possible to avoid fogging.

The manual i read i found online and it was only a partial manual. when i got the camera, it didnt have a manual with it.
all i could find on the internet was how to run the camera. it said nothing about loading or any other features
