Well for my upcoming film I want to use the song Genesis by Justice see, I cannot find a way to contact their record company (ED BANGER RECORDS), the website has no address for contacting them, SO if you could please help me with getting permission to use this song that would be great. Thanks.

Is this a huge production, or a youtube video? Because if it is a youtube video, use royalty free music. If its not, (which i assume it isn't just a youtube video) i found this, tom@windishagency.com, email for their US branch (here's the site, though you have probably been here. (http://www.edbangerrecords.com/)) contact@edbangerrecords.com thats press contact, would that work? Otherwise, do some more research.

P.S. Great song!

try finding the band's myspace or facebook account. Most bands now days have a social networking account, both young and old bands.

You aren't trying to get royalties. You're trying to get sync rights.

They have their press email on their site. Ask *them* who you should talk to, they're going to be fewer degrees separated from the people you need than random people on this site will be. But get your terminology straight when you do.

The movie will be put up on youtube but I plan on screening it and selling it through out my city.

As stated previously, it would be a good idea to have all of your jargon in order if you have to contact them professionally.

PM me and I can help you draft an inquiry letter, or just hire yourself a lawyer who is good at drafting these agreements (it'll be a good idea to go ahead and find one to at least do a once over for you on whatever you're going to have to end up signing.)
