So this Saturday Nov 21st I'm conducting auditions for Project 12 (http://forum.indymogul.com/www.silentmistmedia.com/project12). I haven't really done auditions in the past, I just had friends in my films. I'm not sure what to expect because locally the word about this is spreading fast. In fact the South Dakota film office is helping us promote Project 12 and they sent out a mass email to their mailing list about this auditon.
What should I do to prepare myself, and what do you think makes a good actor or actress? What should I look for?

Just get your AP and Director to be with you. You should know which one is it because you're looking for the actress or actor that does really good and looks and feels like your character so you should know who should be the part.

You're going to tape the auditions right? Do you have a contact/info sheet prepared for them to sign? Do you have sides picked out already and enough copies made of them? Will they be doing cold reads or are you going to provide sides in advance? How many people will be with you?
As far as their acting abilities are concerned, trust me you'll be able to gauge their ability pretty quickly.
(This is all pretty fresh in my mind, I'll be holding an audition on sunday.)
