Killswitch Engage, Atreyu, Dragonforce, old heavy metal (Alice Cooper, Twisted Sister, Ozzy), Megadeth, Pantera, Korn, Avenged Sevenfold, The 69 Eyes, Rob Zombie, Limp Bizkit, Marilyn Manson (he's more rock than metal), and Children of Bodom are the metal bands I like.
And I pretty much like all hard rock too.

Im a huge metal Head:supermad:
Nile, Decapitated, Testament, Death, Immortal, The Haunted, Dying Fetus, Mercyful Fate, Behemoth, Overkill, Hypocrisy, Iced Earth, Meshuggah, Nevermore, Suffocation, White Zombie, Cryptopsy, Ministry, Emperor, Dimmu Borgir, Annihilator, (OLD) Sepultura, At The Gates, Cannibal Corpse, Amorphis, Judas Priest, Sacred Reich, Exodus, etc ... im also into a lot of hardcore, 80s punk, and electronic music, but metal is my forte.
ive been obsessed with metal for about 12 years... just saw Enslaved at BBKings Bar and Grill in nyc bout 2 weeks ago
\m/
niles drummer is amazingIMO hes the best drummer in the business. Im very difficult to impress with these things as well but theres no percussionist alive that can compare. Compounded with Niles tonality, atmosphere, and compositional style, the guy cant even be stood next to. \mm/ = too much metal for one hand. If vBulleting allowed scripting in here id embed players from my imeem profile to cite examples... just break out "Annihilation of the Wicked" and if you dont have it allready, youre probably retarded. I recall getting my last tatoo drilled into my arm with track 9 blasting max volume, pure cacophonic bliss. Man Nile just might be my fav metal band... Ithyphallic sort of dissapointed me but their guitarist's resurrection of the Trey Asgaroth sorta style of string bending on both the high and low end AND the same compositional traits youd find in the newer Death albums (another band im severely into) just give Nile such an addicting sound.
Decapitated's newest album (Organic Hallucinosis) def gives them a run for their money, but alas the departure of their drummer from this earth (another who is arguably one of the best musicians of all time) kind of stops them from really competing with Nile anymore.
Everyone ready for the new Testament album? ive been drooling over it for over a year since i caught em in Jersey last October.

you old fart lol
i just saw Napalm Death with Exodus, Black Dahlia Murder (horrible), Hatebreed (lol), and First Blood. IMO ND wasnt worthwhile untill Harmony Corruption came out (1990) so if u caught em before that tour they sucked... back when the guy from carcass was with them. Course i wasnt into them untill after Utopia Banished (1992), but I was a wee little lad then .
Still im jealous that u got to see Sepultura when they were still metal. SCHIIIZOOOPHREEENIAAAAAA!!!! \m/

Raymond Herrera is great yes, but FF (in my OPINION) sucked after Demanufacture. Ill admit, i like some tracks on archetype, but theyre mainly overhyped and overproduced.
Pete Sandoval is great too (im thinking "Pain Divine" from the album Covenant, prime example of some fancy footwork), but when it comes to MA i gotta give the main talent to Trey Asgaroth (sp?). Guy practically invented a new guitar style. I been jammin to MA since Blessed are the Sick came out.

Good bands, I'm not a huge fan of Job For A Cowboy's newer stuff though.
30 Seconds to Mar is not metal at-all.
I hate genre wars, so I'm going to list some of my favorite heavy bands:
As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, Every Time I Die, Haste the Day, August Burns Red, Parkway Drive, The Devil Wears Prada, Protest the Hero tons more.

I love heavy music. Death metal, grindcore, whatever. If I have to think of some of my all time favorites I'd have to go with Cannibal Corpse, Nile, Deicide, and Metallica.
On the subject of Geroge Kollias, drummer for nile. As a drummer, he really isn't that impressive. No doubt he has speed and solid technique for a death metal drummer. But even in the genre of metal, there are far greater talents. Derek Roddy being the cheif example. No one combines sheer pummeling speed with technical playing that rivals the jazz legends. Now don't get me wrong, George is good, but not great. I'm sure I'm probably a little over critical when it comes to listening to drummers, but it's the guys who do things that as a drummer you woudln't even know where to begin learning that part that are truly impressive.

I listen to Dimmu Borgir, God Forbid, Eighteen Visions, and Skindred. I'm not super into it though, it's just some good music to relax to every once and awhile.

Metallica arent metal. They are the image of metal, in today's society, but they're not metal. They used to be, about 15 years ago.

The Scorpions made Gary Numan throw up on The Old Grey Wistle Test...I think it was due to their smell.
