It has been a few months ago,but in that time I was being harassed by some people on a website. There were like four people involved, but mainly only two.One delberatly posted one of my personal blogs up,and another was harassing me and two of my friends, and somehow found our myspace links.
How can we stop people like this???

I don't know. One is a really annoying spammer and another was one of those jackasses that pick on random people. This all happened on IMDb probably in September or October.I feel like the admins don't do anything. This wasn't the first time this happened either. It went on last year as well, when one of the four threatened to kill my sister.

I don't know what your legal system calls it, but in Canada telling someone you're going to kill their sister is called "Uttering Threats (http://www.defencelaw.com/utter-threats.html)" and you can go to prison for it.

I don't have the posts anymore, becuase I felt threatened to the point where I canceled my account and opened a new one.I think they stopped.Hopefully they did.

The best way to deal with it is staying of the internet. people will find things out about you no matter what you do. If you want to be completely safe, just log off and never return.

You can't define your life by where those in the wrong permit you to go. That just leaves them with access to all the cool toys and nice places and you with nothing. People like that push harder when you back down. If you cede territory, they encroach on what you have left. Appeasement of certain personality types does not work.

I'd agree with ignore as a strategy for forum bullying, but it's only effective early in the situation - while the "bully" in question is still gauging your viability as a target. After you've been targeted, and particularly after threats have been uttered, it's escalated past the point where adding the hostile party to an ignore list is a valid solution. After you've been threatened, you need to monitor the behaviour of the person who threatened you to determine if they represent a credible danger to you. You need to think about protecting yourself, not about escaping.
At that point, it's time to involve the moderators.
In the case of particularly violent (or disturbing) and plausible threats (as would be the case if the person uttering the threats knew your off-line identity and could show up at your off-line location), it may even be necessary to involve law enforcement. At the very least, filing a report with the authorities can begin creating an evidence trail if you later need to establish proof of harassment.
At no time would I suggest fleeing or the very odd suggestion made earlier to "threaten" to leave. (How is "threatening" to surrender going to accomplish anything?)

hahahahaha yeah threaten to leave the internet and cause drama
that is exactly what they don't want! they will be bound to stop!
You see, all trolls are secretly afraid of people's reactions and getting mad at them. So, if you start reacting and getting angry, trolls will stop.
Whatever you do don't just ignore them, because they usually just try harder and never stop!

I think trolls have their yearly time to rise and piss people off.I noticed the blog was mine about ten minutes in,then I reported it in and I think the guy thta posted it is banned.

Fuck Canadian laws. That sucks. What has this world come to when a person can't threaten another person's sister without going to prison?

If you're on the internet, YOU WILL BE FOUND. Nothing other than not using the internet at all will ensure you cannot be found by trolls.
So it's up to you to be a bad target for trolls by not giving a shit when people make fun of you on the internet. Stop reacting.
