I'm starting a fairly ambitious project. I've always been a big fan of the Legend of Zelda series.
And I have spent the last year learning 3D Animation. I am planning a rather ambitious project, involving the Legend of Zelda as the basis for the film.
What's cool is, the people on my team all use different software. One uses XSI (or whatever it's called), one uses Blender, and I use Maya 8.5 Unlimited. (I'm lucky enough to have legal free access to it). But we are using common formats, like .3ds and .obj, so we can share our models and eventually put it all together.
We're currently just brainstorming story ideas. We haven't gotten to the part of actually making it yet, but we are all excited to.

Is it totally 3D or is it live action with 3D creatures? I'd love to see anything you have as of now!

Well, it's totally CG (sorry if that makes me a dumb, fake moguler :().
But as of now we don't have anything made. We are still brainstorming story ideas.
I did make a basic model of Majora's Mask for the fun of it. But I won't be able to use that model in the video. See, at home, I have the free version of the software I use. In the free version of Maya, it puts a big watermark over your work, so you can't really use it for an actual video. And, you can't take files from the free version to the full version (but you can do the opposite). So it's not fully functional (but my friends have fully functional free 3D software, like Blender)
But in class (I take a class in 3D), they have the full version. So I will be able to work on the video there.
Here is the Majora's Mask model (that I won't be able to use).

And here is a centaur I'm making independantly. I might use it in the video when I'm done. But I might modify it into a Lynel (a form of Zelda enemy) first.

the mask need more pollys or some kind of mesh smoother. there are a few good ones in 3DS.

^^^Yeah, the mesh for the mask is actually unfinished though. It was a rough model. I didn't smooth it because I wanted to show the hard lines on a low poly model, so you could see the basic structure of it a little bit.
And the centaur I AM going to apply a smooth to, but not until he's totally finished.
