I asked the guy who made this video how he made the stop motion so smooth and nice looking.
His Answer:
1.)Take a clip of the action you want to convert to stop motion, except do it with people.
2.)Use your editor to extract the frame images, this can be done in most simple editing programs, like iMovie.
3.)Now literally copy each frame with your stuffed animal/lego/or clay monster
Also, if you want to use stuffed animals like in the video, go down to your local craft store and get some of that bendy wire stuff, there's different thicknesses, get the thickness that will hold up your stuffed animals arms, legs, etc.
Bend that wire to the basic wire frame of your stuffed animal, mouth wire optional
Cut the back of your stuffed animal open, insert wire, sew it all back up!

Stop motion is hard! I started a stop motion movie last summer. As of right now I have like 2 minutes and 10 seconds of the movie animated. I need to do at least another minute to finish it. But I haven't been working on it as much recently because A.) I've kinda lost interest in it and B.) I've been really busy with other things in my life. I hope that one of these days I will find the time and the motivation to sit down and finish it. Cause most of the stuff I've already animated looks pretty good. You can see the trailer for it on my youtube.

Wow, that stop motion is nice stuff. I don't think I would have any hair left after a long stop motion project... soo tedious

I've been doing stop motion for years, And I'm sorry to say, that's not the smoothest stop motion I've ever seen. Although
I've gotta give the guy credit, he did a NICE job for amateur, but look at movies like "The Corpse Bride". All completely done in stop motion, and almost as smooth as live action.

i got into filmmaking because of slow motion (i didn't know it was called like that back then)
i was like... 10 years old... i saw how to do it in a program called Popular Mechanics for Kids (i loved it!!)
i've been doing some in my old camera.. someday i'll get them into my computer... others, the first ones were lost with the other camera... :(
