How can I connect with other filmmakers?

Hey all - I heard on one of the videos there was thread to help you connect to other DIY filmmakers for help. I have the barest experience with shooting stuff and I'm an amatuer editor, but I'm willing to help people out with their projects if I can connect with people who can help me in the future.

I hear you, Syxx.

I should have made myself more clear; by help I mean actual, physical "show up at 10am on the N line, Ditmars Blvd stop on Saturday morning with your camera and blank tapes" kind of help. THAT's what I mean.

My needs (which are far down the road) will be people who know post production really well, especially stuff like after effects and such. And what I'm hoping to do is get to know the DIY filmmaking community (in NYC!) so we can make some stuff.

Oh, well now it's all becomming clearer. I'm not aware of a specific thread regarding that, but I'm in NJ and only 30-45 min from Yankee Stadium. I'm game for putting together a film group if more people are interested.
