Ok, so I have this JVC Everio GZ-MG130 Hybrid SD/HDD camcorder and it's a hell of a camera! Especially since I'm upgrading from a cheap VuPoint!

Well I'm recording for my next very short film and when all the recording is done, it's time for editing on a compy right?

I go to upload the files and try to import them into WMM (yes, I'm that sad) and I get "Cannot import due to wrong code or files corrupeted." I try it though Vegas and I can't even see the files when I hit "View all Files."

Upon further inspection I noticed the files were something along the lines of a .mod file type. I've never seen that before...

Anyway, the only way I could have finished my film was to play the videos (for some odd reason I could play them...) and re-record them through Fraps.

Here was the final result :( : http://youtube.com/watch?v=kebwsWrExMM

Please, the video quality of my camera is VERY supirior to what you saw in the video, but I can't to the life of me find a converter and the instruction book has left me hanging.

Please tell me what I can do to get all these .mod videos into a more workable file type such as .avi or .mpg!

Are you sure it's .mod? Are you sure it's not .TOD? If it is, you can edit it natively in Vegas 7.0e and up.

Very positive it is indeed .MOD

And I was just about to ask that questions cuz I knew there was some file SV7.0 could edit that was like .-OD and I thought it was MOD
