No naysayers please I like canon and xl1 fit with in my budget. Won it on ebay on Christmas day for about 800. Maybe one day I can get the xl-h1.

So its in the mail atm (hopefully) and I can't wait for it to arrive. I plan on using my panasonic gs300 as a backup and also to dump the footage from the xl1 to my comp.

I have a decent mic so I don't need to upgrade on that part, however does anyone have any suggestions on accessories and such. The camcorder is coming with 2 batteries charger and basically the standard lens and such. I have lights and a walmart tripod.

Standard shoulder pad worth it? (From what I hear they don't take any of the cameras weight.) Like this one here (http://cgi.ebay.com/Canon-SP-100-SP100-Shoulder-Mount-for-Canon-XL1-XL1s_W0QQitemZ280181447568QQihZ018QQcategoryZ23780 QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem?_trksid=p163 8.m118), or should I get something that will let me set the camera on my shoulder. Or both? Neither?

External monitor like the ones that sit on the handle? seems like it would be nice to have however they are expensive and the view finder on the xl1 is no basic consumer view finder. I could always hook up my laptop too but mobility wise it might be a bit awkward.

A tripod! I need a new triopod that will hold a decent amount of weight thats not gona pick me dry any suggestions?

Any general tips or suggestions about the xl1? I know they are heavy hopefully I can get around that or use my 1 pound panasonic when my arm is about to fall off.

Thanks, Imbender
