$30 microphone working on a camcorder

I was going to buy a $30 handheld microphone for my camcorder but I don't know if it would work. Do all microphones work for a camcorder if you have the correct adapter? I don't know and I need some help.

The only problem I can think of is if the microphone requires a phantom power source. But they probably won't have that for a $30 mic.

Well this may seem kinda obvious but I have to ask do you have a mic input and make sure its not a headphone out!
But other then that, yes
As an example Those audio technica mics that lots seem to use will work with any camcorder that has a mic input.
