Grr sony(microphone question/comparission)

So I got a new camera, Sony 60 gb handycam (DCR-SR80) And I love it but I need a shotgun mic. The only problem is that it doesnt not have a regular input. It just has the hot shoe kinda thing on top. But sony is so selfish, they only allow thier accesories to work on their products. So I have basically two choices for mics:

If money is not an issue, which one is better? I cant really tell which one is better for a stationary mic on my camera. Anyone have any input? Any would be great. This would be my only shotgun mic so it has to be very good. Thank you.

This is exactly why I'll never buy another Sony camera. I think they did this on purpose. Almost every comparable camera (in price and quality) has a mic input.

It's a conspiracy. And no, I don't buy the tin-foil hats they sell at the store; those have micro-ships in them that allow the CIA to... I've said to much.

but i know what you mean. I thought they would sell some adapter so any 3.5mm mic jack or w/e could plug into the shoe but they dont.

I would get the second one.

The first one is a little weird about it picking up sound from
90 and 120 degrees only. The second one could be used as a
zoom AND regular shotgun mic. Whenever you use your camera's zoom
the shotgun mic (When set on zoom mode) will pick up sound
from wherever and as far as you zoomed to.

I think that is a neat feature to go for the second mic choice.
