Hey guys.

Im filming a video where i want a bullet to fly in slowmo.. Like the Matrix but without the bullests sping trail. Since thats pretty much copywritted by the creators of the matrix. I know what to do after I get it. i just would like to know if you guys know of anywhere i can get a bullet (a realistic one) flying. and if the background is greenscreened of perfribly a color i can key.

Once again to repeat. I want a realistic bullet flying on a croma background, doesnt matter the .cal of the bullet I can always make it look diffrent then it is.

Thanks.

if you have any animation program (maya, blender, ect) you could make on in a 3d model and put it in digitally.

It's time for you to learn basic 3D animation: http://www.blender.org/

You could also make a big fake bullet and green screen it moving on wires

I have flash but making anything look realistic and 3d in there is pretty difficult

I do ALOT of small simple stuff that looks good but I dont think id try a bullet flying.

Why can't you just take a picture of a bullet, isolate it over a green background (or just remove the background- alpha channel) in Photoshop, and just animate it on layer in your timeline? I do stuff like that all the time. As a matter of fact, in my current project I have a shot of a revolver firing off a shot. You see it explode out of the barrel in slow motion and come at the camera.

if you create bullet in 3d package - you don't have to worry about keying it out, coz all of 3d support export files with alpha-channel (transparecy)...

and don't worry about matrix-like bullet trail.
actually it's not physically correct!
real shockwave looks like this: (no, it's not in water!)

Try to find the word Render somewhere.

yeah, i know how to render, but the only way i can see the rendered version is to get on blender and select 'play back rendered version'

In that case, I'd advise you to give up filmmaking and take up a less active hobby - like masturbating.

If anyone is up for a challenge and has a little bit of time....
I'm looking for a slow motion quick shot of a bullet with a
greek alpha or beta (lowercase) symbol on it...just long enough
to see the logo....if anyone is interested, please post.

I can't help with that, but if anyone's reading through this topic, don't forget about the spin you have to put on the bullet. You can have the most realistic bullet, and if its only flying straight through the air with no spin, its gonna look fake.

Here is a decent example of CGI bullets.

Good enough for television anyhow!

BTW, If I was Ollie, I'd probably faint!

Aw man nobody up to the challenge?

The real challenge would be doing it yourself. I wanted an animated lighting/spark effect that I didn't have a filter/generator for in the program I use. I figured it out and posted it for others to download. It is amazing what you can come up with if you put your mind to it. I challenge you to create the bullet effect you want and show us what you came up with. Blender is free, and don't tell me you don't know how to use it. I didn't know how to use the 3D program I bought and the motion tracking program I have, but through time I became pretty proficient at both.

Anyone know a good, cheap and relatively easy 3D program?

Blender is free, or the other option in terms of an inexpensive relatively easy to use program would be Carrara 7 Express for $89.95
http://www.daz3d.com/i/3d-models/purchase-carrara/carrara-7-express?item=8956&cat=331&_m=d

I personally use the pro version.
