If you had the money, would you take film lessons, or invest in your own film?

Good question. Depends on how old i was. If i was 18 i would invest in school. If i was 28 i would go with my own film.

Probably invest in my own film. I plan on going to film school for the experience but I would prefer to invest in my own film. Then the film could make money and I would go to film school then.

I'd say invest in your film. If you get accepted to a film school or any college with a good film program, you can always apply for financial aid. I'm 21 and since I get financial aid all the money I make now is going toward my budget for my next film.

That's a great question. I'm only 16 so I would probably invest in film school. I want to go to USC's film school and that's going to be like 20k a year for me.

I'm in a community college and I'm learning more than I ever did back while I was at a regular school. Also you shouldn't be discouraged just because your poor. Apply for financial aid if you really are poor you'll get it.

Five years ago I would have taken lessons, but now that I know how to make a film I could use the money on that instead.

I think Eli Roth (and i know a lot of people don't like him) said it best when he said "yeah instead of investing x amount of dollars in school...you could invest x amount of dollars in a big piece of shit.

just beware is all. surround yourself with people who know more than you.

No. In fact, I will be graduating from our film program this May.

And I wouldn't invest in either option, in particular. I'd invest in equipment for future filmmaking projects.

But, I guess if I had to choose one, I'd invest in my own film, seeing as how I've already had four years of film study.
