Unforgiven, Clint Eastwood in one bad ass western flick!
Shoot 'Em Up, awesome action, insane stunts.
I like those, add those. I'll think of more when my wife isn't pestering me to clean up.

You definitely need to see Equilibrium. I also think Dark Blue, Training Day, Man on Fire, and Shooter are really good.

If you liked snatch you should check out lock, stock and two smoking barrels
Same director, same awesomeness

I've seen all of those, I will add Training Day and Man on Fire but I didn't like Dark Blue the best.

I saw half of it on TV one day and it was pretty good. I never did see all of it.

"-Eternal Sunrise of The Spotless Mind"
It's Eternal Sunshine.
You should watch "The Street Fighter" really nice kung-fu flick starring SONNY CHIBA! It's pretty gory for a kung-fu movie at that time (70's) I think it was in the grindhouse type cinemas.

Tarantino is the biggest hack in hollywood. Reservoir Dogs and the Kill Bills were massive POS. Pulp Fiction was okay, uneven, but still okay. Still I must say I love most of the cinematography.

The Kill Bills were kinda wack...
But the dialogue in Reservoir Dogs was amazing. In fact, that's all the movie was: dialogue. And it was still riveting.
And who could not love a short scene of Steve Buscemi offing some cops?
And Pulp Fiction is a great flick. Great colorful characters, great music, lots of violence..deserves all the hype.

I TOTALLY disagree with Tarantino being labeled a "hack".
I think all of his movies have been awesome, Jackie Brown is massively underrated, and Death Proof was much better than Planet Terror.

Tell me how exactly he is a hack. Reservoir Dogs was a brilliant film, with AMAZING dialog. I liked Kill Bill just because of the unbelievable action going on. She killed or dismembered an entire room of guys. I thought that was sweet.

Death Proof was great, I will agree but just comparing it to "grindhouse" movies in general I think Planet Terror was a bit better.

I just realized, I meant to say "Jackie Brown is massively UNDERrated". I think it always gets left out when people talk about Tarantino, even though it's really good.

OK for good movies you need:
Shadow Of The Vampire (not a horror movie but a really weird spin on Nosferatu)
The Truman Show
I'm I the only one who thinks in classical cinema you need...
Plan 9 From Outer Space

Plan 9 from Outer Space is public domain too so you'll often find cheapo DVD's of it. It's also a legal download you can find online.
As for other movies, I naturally have my favorites but I think it might be more fun to post pics of people's collections of movies or movie memorabilia.

This guy was just on my list of 300 movies thread hating Tarantino. I think that's his only reason on being on the forums. To convert everyone to anti-tarantinoism! He didn't even mention Jackie Brown because there's nothing horrible you can really say about it. It is an amazing movie :D

It was sponsered by a church and I think they gave it away to public domain :P.
It was on YouTube all in one segment for AGES then it got removed. Maybe the rights have changed. But it was Public Domain for years.

That's really weird.
Problem is, you have to own an original print - replicating someone else's print can violate their copyright.

Ya need more Cohen Bros on the list (can I hear it for "Blood Simple" - M Emmet Walsh with his hand pinned to the windowsill, or "Miller's Crossing" -if for nothing else than Albert Finney with a machine gun, in his bathrobe, blazing bullets in the middle of the street, to the strains of "Danny Boy"?).
And of course more more more Kurosawa - "Yojimbo" (remade as "Fistful of Dollars"). Or the amazing sweep of "Ran" (and the amazingly creepy Lady Sue') and "Kagamusha". The scene in "Red Beard" where Mifune plays a doctor who's just beaten the crap out of a group of thugs at a brothel, as he laments about what a terrible thing he's just done, absentmindedly yanking one of the thugs arm back into it's socket... The bittersweet "Dreams", the anthology film where it's plain he sees his own end in sight and is trying to get some last story ideas down before he goes (memorable if for nothing else than Scorsese's cameo as Van Gogh).

As I said in another thread, I haven't updated this list in a year and a half and I need to get around to doing that and it will include 100% more films.
