Judging from the trailer I'd say this film is art. Film hasn't been art in many years. A money machine is what it's been for the last couple of years. Not for all movies mind you, there are exceptions.

Sounds good, but across the Universe doesn't really suit it as a name, does it?

I live by Ann Arbor (In Michigan) so we get like every Indie movie. I want to see Across the Universe but I heard some terrible reviews about it.

We went to see it last night. I liked it. Some of it was really trippy but that's just fine by me.

Nope, not seeing it this weekend, it's only playing at the artsy theaters in dallas, and well, I don't wanna go to dallas.
I'll go when it opens nation wide this friday.

I saw it on 09/24.
I had a lot of fun watching this movie and the majority of people that reviewed this picture are just a bunch of haters.
The only part that was gay is when Bono had to steal the show. It was still awesome to look at though.
The movie most likely seemed 'girly' because it was directed by Julie Taymor (female, right?). I like how she put in Selma Heyek and her four twin sisters but "Frida" was a better team effort by them.

I saw it at the premiere/screening in NYC, with Julie T., Even Rachel Wood (soo hot in person) and the rest of the cast.
I thought the movie kicked ass, but felt that it could have been 4 songs shorter. Some of the songs redunded the plot points, and I honestly would have liked the movie and the story without the singing, but that's me, I'm a film person and not a theater kid.
Anyone else flip out at seeing Eddie Izzard's part? I was like EDDIEEE

Achem, obviously you've never seen American Psycho, directed by a female. :P

Across the Universe blew balls.
It had some coolish PARTS but the movie all together sucked.
Except I laughed my ass off when they were having an underwater orgy of sorts and the blonde kid swam off into the distance ass naked.
Hilarious.
It was such a funny shitty movie on accident.
