Im looking at a sony hi def camcorder and was wondering weather to get the Z1U, The V1U, The Dvx 100b, or the XL-H1. This wont be for about a year or so. Or should i get like an A1U and some audio equipment?

I would recommend you look into each of the cameras and compare them yourself before you buy anything. However, this is my basic understanding of the cameras.
Panasonic AG-DVX100B $2500 - I know nothing of this camera.
*Canon XH-A1 $3300 - a good camera. Fantastic quality and good low-light function.
Canon XH-G1 $6000 - essentially an A1 with additional input/output connections which you aren’t likely to use, and cost $2700 to have.
Sony HVR-V1U $4300 - “compact” but seems like a good camera. A little on the pricey side though. I don't see much difference from the FX1 other than the smaller size, however I haven’t really looked into the differences between this and the FX1/Z1U, so there could easily be something I’m overlooking. the light sensor is also 1/4" instead of 1/3", so it isn't as good in low light as most of the other cameras listed here.
*Sony HDR-FX1 $3100 - a good camera. Wonderful quality and great low-light function.
Sony HDR-Z1U $4900 - much like with the canon example, this is essentially an FX1 with additional input/output connections that you aren’t likely to use and cost $1800 to have.
