There's a Canon GL1 on my local Craigslist for $400. It has a single burnt pixel, determined by a black level test. The post claims it's unnoticeable.
I have not yet seen the camera. I don't know if the pixel would even show up on the LCD screen for testing.
I'm in the market for a new camera, and I was hoping to spend $400-500. This might be a great opportunity, or a poor investment.
I have emailed the seller to meet up soon, but I thought I'd check with your brains first.
Cheers.

i will buy it too. If it just a dead pixel on LCD, It will not effect on your post-production. And you can use the viewfinder instead if the LCD dead. Save money for other stuff.

I'd buy it 1 dead pixel is not a big deal...especially if you can get the camcorder for $400 dollars

Ask to see some footage showing the dead pixel. I would assume it's on the CDD because that's what would be checked with a black level test. If you notice it, don't buy. If you don't notice it, buy.

The burnt pixel is on the CCD.
Interestingly Canon understands under 20 burnt pixels on the LCD to still be functioning, and not a warranty repair.

still Only one pixel, and with a little extra editing it can be airbrushed or removed, another thing is.. where is it located? On the side of the center, cause say if it is on the upper right side, if you convert to wide screen, it won't affect anything.

Ask to see some footage with it... then make a decision.
