I have mixed opions about halo.
what do u think about the game series? :confused:

I think its amazing. Bungie have always been such a creative bunch of people, and I think they really knocked it out of the park.

Although i'm a big fan of science fiction, and was lucky enough to be exposed to Marathon a long time ago.

So, knowing that it was Bungie returning to Sci-Fi, remembering seeing the early videos of the first scenes back in PC Gamer forever ago, it got me so syked for it.

Most of the hate of Halo is because it is owned by Microsoft now that MS bought Bungie, but hate of Microsoft is really immature, and the degree of hatred is I think unfounded in reality.

It's just Halo is popular, and Microsoft is successful, and it's hip to hate popular successful things and people, so by extension, "Ah man! It sucks!"

While most of the people who think it sucks have never taken the time to finish it, much less know any of the back story (the same people who call it "Mindless", or claim it doesn't have a good narrative behind it.)

Yeah I used to think it sucked, until recently I played and finished halo 1.

Yea... only Bill Gates had absolutely nothing to do with the creation of Halo.

You just hate it because Microsoft bought Bungie Studios, you don't really know anything about the game do you?

I have nothing against the game, I just think it's overrated and overhyped.

i think he hates the fact that microsoft is making the Xbox in the first place.

And before Microsoft got involved, Halo was going to be Apple and PC only.

I mean I know you are both from Singapore, and I know the XBox hasn't been real popular in Asia, but why? I mean it's a great system.

Is it just because its a Microsoft product that is the problem?

And why do you think a Halo movie is a bad idea? Peter Jackson, Neil Blomkamp, and D.B. Weiss, they could turn anything into something amazing.

Yea, they only have a spotless track record. Peter Jackson has only made the most acclaimed and successful film in history, and followed that up with another Oscar winner.

Neil Blomkamp has only proven himself as an exceedingly creative director, who is an expert in the kind of Special Effects that would be required of this film.

And D.B. Weiss has only written one of the most underrated novels of the last 30 years, and wrote a script draft so good that it automatically landed him a job doing the script for Ender's Game, another huge budget sci-fi project.

And Halo is only one of the most complex narratives in game history, much less First Person Shooter history, being rivaled only by other Bungie creations such as Marathon and Pathways into Darkness.

Yes, it could only be crap. :rolleyes:

Yes. Anyone who doesn't think so doesn't know anything about Halo's backstory.

It's an VERY complex story, with so many mysteries and speculation about so many parts.

It's got literally hundreds of major characters, events, and backstory events.

Well Halo was created by Bungie and they were working on it before Microsoft bought them. NOW, Bungie is getting away from Microsoft. Hating Halo due to Microsoft is stupid. The series is great, but not perfect and I do think it is over rated in some areas, others it is a masterpiece. Halo 1 was a masterpiece, from beginning to end. A game, a fps (first person shooter) on a console, that was better than most pc fps games (where the fps game started long ago). This was a game that would not be equaled. Halo 2 was good, but overhyped. The single player was ok, but with the arbiter (sp?) levels and such, many like myself didn't like that we couldn't beat the game as Master Chief. The multi player was over the top, but the single player wasn't. Halo 3, don't know. I am about to get a 360, but the Halo 3 sales tell alot.

Over all, I don't hate the series, but it has gotten a reputation of being the end all of gaming, and it isn't. The series IS great, but I think all in all it is a phenomena that was made an epidemic by gamers word of mouth and if there was no or lacking multi player, the series would not be that good. I am getting Halo 3, but I am not like "Oh my God, HALOOOOO!!!!!"

On the movie, nobody knows if it will be good. I don't care who directs it, I will judge the movie when I see it.

Yeah it is a good game, with good storys, but it is overrated. Just because so many people are so obsessed with it.

Peter Jackson is one of the worlds most acclaimed directors coures it could be realy good!!! I mean im not i big fan of halo but Peter Jackson is awsome!!!

I dont like Xbox either, its not that i onyl like nintedo... its just... i dont like it, i guess its the game controlls. However About the game? yeah, i like to paly it and i give a shit about background story and stuff. its just funny to paly, For PC ofcorse :D

When Xbox frist came out it was amazing the graphics, the game play, the look of it all, it ahd games for kids and adults. Some of the kid-ish games were fun. And it had almost no problems. I've had an Xbox sence the frist week it came out and I've put well over 200 hours of play into it and its still running great! 360 is good but it dose not have a wide varitiy of games, but all the games they have are gomes I like so I'm fine with it. Playstaion was good PS2 was good but I just like the feel of Xbox. And Wii
