still need help with audio and movie

Ok, my brother is a dj and I made a promo dvd for him. But im still in the editing process. I need took shots from different angles in one solid shot. I have Sony Vegas Movie Sudio, and I still need to know how I can split the footage, and not the music, cuz when I highlight just the video, and split it, the music splits as well, any DETAILED help is appreciated.

take out the audio on the clips, then put the music you want playing in the audio part.

I don't have and have never used Vegas, but common sense would say that you could split the audio from the video and manipulate them separately.

Right click and select group-clear and now cut the video and the audio will stay normal.

Right click the audio, select Group, then select Remove From, and it will separate the two.
