This seemed like a really....

OK, I was bored! But I'm a fan of Mr. King and a fan of the movies, and no-one else but King can boast such a varied spectrum of success/failure when it comes to adaptations of his work.
At one end you've got "The Shining", "Carrie" and "The Green Mile" and at the other you've got "Pet semetary" (Arggghhh!) and "The Running Man" (Oh dear, Arnold)

For me it has to be "The Shawshank Redemption" everytime!

Anyone else?

you know its easy just to say The Shining and be done with it but i have to go with Stand By Me, one of my favourite ever films and also the closest adaptation of a King novel yet.

Stand By Me
Shawshank Redemption
The Green Mile (first movie in a long time to make me cry.)
The Dead Zone
The Shining
1408 (better than the short story)
Secret Window

I haven't seen these but i heard that they are good...Misery, The Mist, Carrie

Misery is definitely one of my favorite movies, The Shining is also a great movie but did not follow the book hardly at all but none the less an amazing movie.

Yes; Stand By Me. Good one. Christ, the man has had so many film adaptations that I sometimes lose track. And, if I may say so, one of Rob Reiner's better movies (because he too has tasted his fair share of great hits and diabolical misses)

As directors go I think Frank Darabont really knows how to make Stephen King's work come alive. (Perhaps they both have weird Prison fixations!!)

The best book by a MILE is The Stand, but the screen version SUCKED!! Although Gary Sinise is always watchable.

... which is the best thing that can be done with that movie! I doubt wether anyone would disagree.

Best part of OVERDRIVE is where the coke machine beats the crap out of that kid.
