i cant really find this in the search button, so i guess i will post it
i think i will order my dvx tonight or in a few days, but i am wondering should i get a hard or soft shell case
seeing what a hardshell case did for my cello i really think its the better way to go, but they are heavy
but if i am ligging around a 11lbs tripod will i be able to cary a soft case anyway??
so what case do you recomend for a dvx 100b?

Hard case looks good, but if your worried about lugging it around, the soft cases are pretty rigid aswell.

I thought this thread was about hard shell or soft shell tacos. In that case I would say soft shell, but in camera-gear context, I'd have to go with hard shell.

Just my 2c but one thing to consider when buying either is how professional do you want your equipment to look when in the case. I use a Pelican case as my main hardshell case for my camera but if I am going somewhere that I am worried about people stealing gear or I just want to look inconspicuous ill throw the camera in a soft shell camera case that really doesn't look that impressive.
Basically if you want protection hardshell is the way to go, but there are arguments for a low-key softshell bag as well in that it is less likely to catch people's attention :)

get a hard... its better cause since your a kid... your more likely to drop it by accident or if you have siblings they can kick the case

YES. I fully support the Pelican case. I've got one for the external hard drive I lug around with me to and from the editing labs, and it's never failed me yet. It's waterproof, which is essential here in New England, incredibly durable (a lifetime guarantee of replacement if it ever breaks, which it won't), and also very secure, since mine has two metal-enforced holes for padlocks. I know somebody who got hit by a car while carrying one, and the Pelican case took all of the impact so she walked away without a scratch, and the case and its contents did too.
Pelican cases get expensive, but if you're investing in a great camera it's worth investing a little to keep it safe in an indestructible foam-padded case!
