feel like IndyMogul has gone down a path of much younger, MUCH less experienced film makers? just wondering. some of these questions you never would have heard before december 07. like "im using a 8meg memory stick (on a dv camera) what do i do?"
questions like that....

Its like Erik said in the bonus interview. The younger fans feel inclined to get involved with and have time for the forums.

Yeah, I agree with you there. It's getting a little kinda like "I already new that" I know some of the newer filmmakers need those questions answered but maybe there should be a "general questions faq" video.

thats pretty much what q and erik is, they try and help all filmmakers, young and old, and if their largest demographic is young and less knowledgable filmmakers then that is who they will speak to more.

Yeah, but the worst thing is, people are asking the SAME questions; things that have already been answered in BFX, Weekend Extras, Q and Erik, and Wes' blog. It's like, the people just come for answers, and don't really support or watch the show.

WesScog

Well I think the Questions are a reflection of what's submitted. It's not like Erik is going, "Oh wow, delete all of these fantastic questions, we're only going to accept these questions from less informed, younger, filmmakers, HAHAHAH!"

The more informative, and more mature questions we get, that is what we'll answer.

The worst is reading questions that have already been answered in previous episodes. People should take time to do research before blindly demanding a decapitation or green screen effect. Thats the biggest complain I have with newbies.

Oh, god, do I love that show. Didn't he masturbate on set, or something?

As for the actual topic of conversation, well, we're opening up to younger viewers, I guess. I feel like the quality of peoples' work HAS gone down the drain, though.

i understand where your coming from, wes. that the more educated film makers dont come up with the questions to be answered "and the show must go on" so they take what questions they have (with the exclusion of the ONE question i texted in), but the whole 'how do i do a greenscreen' and the 'how do i add words' one, that got me. i think my jaw dropped below my knees on that one. i mean really. whats film making but 45% editing. i think if erik were to just say NLE 90% of the veiwers would get it and if he were to say simply "editing program" 99.9% of the veiwers would need no further explanation.
im just trying to vent my aggravation at what seems to be a stand still in bfx and qanderik. although i thought they'd run out of ideas and repeat things eventually, i hoped itd be a lot longer than this. oh well

Yeah I think there should be a restriction or a filter system for questions that have already been adressed. I've sent in one question and it's more of an opinion type question for Erik. It seems like opinion questions or ones that are very open ended work best for the show. Like the green screen question today, that was a pretty good question. But if someone asks "How do I do a greenscreen effect?" They can easily find that on their software or google.

Yes.

Also, I've been feeling like this for a long time. I wonder how it feels that your demographic are twelve year olds. How does it feel? HOW DOES IT FEEL? TO BE WITHOUT A HOME! LIKE A COMPLETE UNKNOWN! LIKE A ROLLING STONE!

But IM doesn't claim to be anything it's not, look at the titles of BFX. "FUN, CHEAP VIDEO EFFECTS: INDY MOGUL". It just sucks because it could be something so much better. The thing that REALLY bothers me is, when people ask Q's to Q and Erik instead of just thinking for themselves. "I want an arm thing on my actor wut do i do?lollolol". Figure it out for yourself!

They don't have a lot of choices, they answer what's asked, people love Q and Erik, and I just watch it to see Erik goof off, I already know ALL of this stuff, but I watch it because Erik is funny and enjoyable to watch.

If you want better questions answered, it's up to you guys, the community, to submit BETTER questions, and submit them more often.

That's not true, it's an urban myth, he was in a Porno theater, did the same thing everyone else was doing there, the guy who ran the place only called the cops because he knew it'd be a scandal and he recognized him.

It was long after the show had ended, and he didn't do it in front of any kids or anything like that (other urban myths.)

As for the "Kiddie Porn" charges, those were dropped. Reubens had a MASSIVE photography collection, including space photography (stars and stuff), and lots of erotic art.

Some of the stuff that they claimed had minors in it was over 100 years old, and all of it was legal when it was published, none of the accusations of "minors" being in the photos could be proven, and all charges were dropped.

Instead he had to pay a $100 fine for obscenity, not even a slap on the wrist.

That's not how I remember it, I read the Police Report a long time ago, and I don't recall that.

I wouldn't be surprised that some sensationalist stuff was spread about his arrest, since it was a former Kid's show host who was getting arrested doing something adult.

I heard so many Urban Myths, that he molested a bunch of kids on the show, that he did it in front of cameras while the show was going on, the he did it in front of a bunch of kids on the show, etc. etc.

None of them were true, most of the stuff about it was stuff that most of us probably remember other kids told us when we were younger.

It's just what I remember hearing from the trusty television. It may have been on the E! channel. Anyway, I think the dude should be in a lot more movies. I used to watch Pee Wee's Playhouse (and now I feel like I'm watching it on Indy Mogul sometimes) and his performances in Blow, Mystery Men, and Reno 911 should've landed him way more roles.
Although I have heard rumors of two Pee Wee movies.

Yea, he's working on a Pee-Wee's Playhouse Movie, instead of being in the veins of the other movies, this one will actually continue the storyline from the TV show.

One of the Playhouse characters has vanished, and the rest of the Playhouse characters and Pee-Wee go out into the "Real World" to save them.

Tim Burton is rumored to be assisting in some way. Either producing, or even Directing.

I agree fully. This is a place where serious filmmakers come to collaborate and spread the flow of idea's and info. We gain from this and become better at our passion. This should not be a place for people who come and say
"Hi I wanna make movies. I got this camera. Now what?" I can understand wanting to make the new members feel accepted but theres a difference between new members and people who are going to do this for a month, decide it's to hard, and never contemplate it again.
