Barbies?

This week I'm going to be filming a short. In part of it we'll need the use of a doll... most likely a Barbie. Is ther a possibility I could get in trouble for doing this? I mean I SERIOUSLY doubt anyone from the Barbie company would say anything... but I always like to do things the safest way.

Alright thanks guys... hopefully this will be funny... but with something this stupid it is definitally a laugh or don't laugh type of deal. Hopefully I'll be done filming this week, then you guys can let me know.

I'm with Ray. I would get a dollar store knockoff. Why? Ever hear of The Karen Carpenter Story? It was a short movie some guy made using Barbies that told how the singer, Karen Carpenter died of anorexia. Not only was he sued up the ass by her family for making it. It was unauthorized. But Mattel also sued him for the use of the Barbies. Basically they prevented the guy from ever showing his film or selling it. Fortunately you can still see it. Google it and you'll see what I mean.

According to that, it had bigger legal issues than the use of Barbies, including unauthorized music.

The DEVO video Love Without Anger uses Barbies, and Mattel sued but lost, on the basis of fair use for parody. Robot Chicken uses toys all the time, but I'm not sure if they get permission.
