I have the special edition of Plan 9. Its in black and white, as well as a colorized version. Best of all it has a commentary track by Mike Nelson of MST3K fame. Funny as hell.

Mike Nelson also autographed my copy

Holy crap!! Dude, I saw this movie when I was like 7, I remember I was watching it with the channel "recall" on cartoons, so that when i got scared I could switch away. I never knew the name for over 20 years now and I've thought about it now and then. Thanks so much for posting about it to jog my memory. Also, thanks for posting the montage... classic. MAN, the acting was horrid.
And the best part of this thread is finding out that not only are they making a new Troll movie, but the star of it is going to be Noah Hathaway!!! I don't believe it, ATREYU!!
I am super-psyched. lol.

Dear god... did you follow the link to the "Official Site" - most of the main page is disclaimers because in the original Troll, the main character was named Harry Potter Jr... some years before the first of the Harry Potter books were released. This link is likely the ONLY reason he's going back to this particularly stagnant well.

All I can say is, he better keep the "rubber pig" chorus...

Apparently, he has been charging that Rowling lifted much of the story of Harry Potter from Troll.

Neal Gaiman had a much stronger claim, and he never even tried to do anything about it. In his "Books of Magic" series (published 7 years prior to Harry potter), he detailed the life of Tim Hunter, a touseled haired bespectacled kid living in a dysfunctional home in england, when he discovers he is the heir to a great magical legacy. His toy yoyo is turned into an owl who becomes his companion. Gaiman politely shrugged off the similarities as common cultural references.
