I know this is mainly an FX site, but i've searched around (internet and forums) and found nothing to answer my question, sorry if I missed anything.

Me and some mates were thinkins of creating our own website, with scheduled shows and everything. Don't start blamming me with "make something first" sugestions because I have my experience with film making. My doubt is what are the Legal technical stuff I need to work out when creating such website and the only profit comming from advertizments like google ads. I know this may change from country to country but do I need to create a company that would sustain the website? Should all the revenew come to me (website owner and manager) and then I would pay the ones that helped me? How about programs? Do I need to specify which ones where used, what kind of license I have for it (comercial or home use) etc?

Thanks in advance!

i can inform you alittle about it
its better to buy a domain and space so you have total control of the site
and for the 1st bit i would advise you to use any money earned from it to put it back into your production
i unsure if there are sites out there that you can have "shows" aired at a time
i am aware of blogtv having the feature of setting up a air time but it has to be live
i found some links that might help you

besides that i would say focus on the site and production of the series
then find a way to stick it up

We are planing of starting production of two series in the summer (after college exams).
My main concern was that I needed to create a company so that the bank could manage the money for us (share for website management, share for person X, share for person Y, etc).
A firend of mine managed to make a system in php where a movie is only open to public when the hosts clock reaches a certain hour.

well if your going to start a business with it you will have to register the name 1st before a bank will do anything

Buisness, I didn't want to make something so permanent as that (or atleast i believe is that permanent), we just wanted to make a couple of experiments with some shows, release them to make a buck to pay for college and stuff but nothing that would make us be bonded to the website, also because I don't know what happens when we want to quit the "buisness".

well the bank may want to a registered name to help you
unless you just open up a bank account and just stick the cash in the account
google ads just send you a cheque unless you want it directed stuck in your account
but thats just me thinking lol

at Dogproductions:
Read the bloody first post and be bloody helpful by giving a bloody link if I didn't bloody found it.

But I don't want to start a flame war here... Sorry if I was out of line...

Anyway, so I will have to register a buisness anyway. In Portugal I believe we have good help when it comes to creating a small buisness... but how about closing it? Atleast on that part of the world?
(I know someone's going to say go to a place and ask but I didn't have the time yet so I'm just asking here to get some foresight on what might be coming ahead).

Then I believe that I should make the series first, site second, put movies third, see click numbers and then consider advertizing (paying a website ain't that much of a deal... and there's youtube).
We just wanted to have some money in our pockets to spend with college... really (when you have to buy a digital slr and a video camera to college because there ain't none to rent... is a bit pricey... and you want one of the best there is).
Well that seems the more logical thing to do... Should've though this further before posting, but well... Sorry for the time wasting... Thanks for the help.

well what you can do is use ning
i always say ning just because its like your own site for free and later on you can buy a domain and space with them
also you can add videos and what not
and there is no limit on space
