nope, the other engineer designed the back end and our design team did the look. i cheered them all on though.

I don't like it. It's not that it's ugly..just doesn't feel right.
Can you give good examples? Are you sure the reason you dont liek it isnt because youre so used to the old platform that the new one just seems a bit too liberal?
Seriously, our design and content team would love any solid feedback you all can leave. This new platform is designed for usability, and overall more "modern" presentation, relative to the old. If you find features difficult to use relative to the old platform, and have good critiques on what is bad and what should change, certainly post them here. Dont be afraid to rip it a new one!

I really like the bigger video and the scroll window for previous episodes.
The new layout seems to suit the content and I find it easier to navigate, e.g. finding build plans for a specific BFX without having to search the homepage.

I like the Vimeo-like video set up on the homepage, with the main video above previous episodes, and when you roll over them, a summary appears.

I like it... But I fear it will go the way of the spotcrunch! I prophesise that soon the comment feature will begin to fail!
It's good that the post count has disappeared (although I'll admit I was slightly proud!)
and most people were abusing the reputation.

I am not trying to complain, but I am upset about the dissappearing post count, it kinda made neccecary social classes around here, because now we don't know if people are new or not, so when they post something dumb, or already talked about, and we yell search, or there was already _____, then they will leave, but we didn't know to give them leeway
and I admit I was proud to break 1000 posts.

Haha... I was just about to edit my post with prediction number 2: new people will get yelled at for not using the search button because no-one will know that they are new. But I guess that will teach us all to be nicer!
The sleek un-cluttered look is nice though!
Edit: ^scrap that^ it still says new member, member, senior member... People should just be more courteous anyway!

Yeah, I certainly did like post count a lot and I wish it was back.

You can still look up posts counts. Also you can still see the join date.
I for one am glad that it's all gone. Now this elitist bull crap can stop once and for all. Just because someone has been on the forums since it started doesn't mean they are the ultimate filmmaker. It's best to look at content rather than post count or rep.

It looks good. Hard to get used to the new nav. I used to find videos by searching for particular terms in the search box. I can't even find the search box now.

You can still see what member rank the poster is and when they joined. If you compare the two, the date and the member status, you can get a picture of how active that poster is.

I like the new look a lot but because the video is bigger it takes longer to load on a wireless connection and it's pixilated. But other than that it's really cool.

The front page is looking great!
As for the forums, I agree with what some others said about having mogulbucks :D
i think mogulbucks would be awesome. If Erik ever brings back the finding Gary thing to BFX, he can reward us with mogulbuck, or maybe some contests or mini-challenges going on, winners could be rewarded with mogulbucks. @.@ Or...or...forum members that request logos, special effects, etc can pay the member that does it in mogulbucks. *goes on and on*

I posted this thread but as you can see people have gotten in front of me and bubblefax has started it and it also sais that when you look at it in the chitchat homepage so is this just a little bug in the system or was it an early bug that you guyss fixed because this could pose problems in the future

This has nothing to do with the update. Chill out it's not a bug. I merged two threads about the same thing. Bubble made his before yours so his appears first. People are smart and should be able to figure it out what this thread is about.

Nothing has changed which would affect video-load time in any way. Its the same exact flash player as before, with different dimensions. Also nothing has changed that would affect this forum. Uhrisuh was merely keeping things tidy and on-topic in the correct forums by merging threads, a nice fetuare vB has always had.

are u browsing with javascript off? i imagine no, as you cant see our main site if that is the case.
perhaps the banner ad diddnt load for ya. theres an iron man / royal purple ad there currently. if youre in firefox and have the cool web hacker tools (Well, editor tools) you can view generated page source and see it there.

what browser are you viewing it in?
Firefox.
^ clear your cache, if that fails (sorry this is a miserable way of dealing with it) reinstall flash in your browser/machine
again, nothing has changed at all with respect to how you are receiving data from us. the video is exactly the same as it always has been, except the display area has increased by around 150%. if there are video issues im 99% sure its mere coincidence.
