Scrubbing in AAE

I'm not sure what I did in After Effect, but now I can't
scrub through the timeline with my mouse. Nothing moves on
the screen until I stop moving the scrubber.
Any one else have this happen?
And does anyone know how to get it back?

Let's say I have a set of letters or numbers that I move around the screen.
Simple effect, one layer. Still doesn't work. It use to work for me and I don't
know if I hit something or what. I have a dual core processor and a gig and a
half of memory, so I would think that should be enough. It's got me puzzled

haha, you really didn't change anything? a quality setting? or a setting in the time controls window?

Okay,, I found the problem. Googled it and found on another forum to hit the live update
on the timeline. I'll bet I tried everything else but that. Lot of buttons in that program lol.
