Make many pictures, like an animation, size them down on your editing software (sony vegas) and render the clip. THats what i did.

How are you trying to animate it?

Your best bet for simple 2D animation is Flash. If you want 3D animation then something like 3D MAX will be of more help.

Question is...what's your budget for this?
Flash = something like $700 last time I priced it.
3D Max = lotsa bucks. I just looked online and found a price, $3500
There is other software to do this sort of thing, but it takes some learning.
2D options: Gimp with GAP, Synfig (kinda buggy and very beta)
3D options: Blender, mebbe Wings3d or some combination of the two.
This little film intro (http://clayogre.deviantart.com/art/20th-Century-DAD-80969288) was done in Blender (made for some stuff I shot of my kids). I first made a sound file using a combination of Garage Band sounds, then made the animation, timed to fit those sounds. Then I put the two together with Windows Movie Maker (I also have another version that I did with iMovie '08).

Often, simpler is better (which is great... as simpler often means cheaper!!!)
Check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ih1veQPNkk for my logo (at the very start of the trailer)
It's a couple of Photoshopped images blended in and out of each other - any video editing program should be able to do it if you save each photoshopped layer as a separate BMP file.
After blending and rendering as an AVI, I had a stationary logo with some nice looking wipes running through it. I ran this AVI through my editing program again, this time adding motion and a fade either end.
Erm... it feels hard to explain... hope you get the idea!!
I've been thinking about changing it for ages but I kinda like the simplicity of it... What do you think ? Hope it gives you some ideas...
