5 MINUTE MOVIE HOUSE - Get your stuff on the frontpage!

It's been requested, and we're going to finally test the waters.

We have so many great creators here, making a rainbow of content in every genre. And unfortunately a lot of you will probably never get on YouTube's frontpage.

Well we want to change that.

We want viewer submitted content to post on the blog in a weekly feature, THE 5 MINUTE MOVIE HOUSE, we want to give your shorts and your films the extra attention that we think they rightfully deserve and help set you on the road to Interweb stardom.

A warning for those entering here, There are catches though...

-RULES-
1. Has to be 5 minutes or under, it's in the name, we can't violate the name of the show. This means, wrap up your short in 5 minutes or less, no if's/and's/but's/etc.

2. Content appropriate. Violence is generally ok WITHIN REASON, Reservoir dogs level is generally ok, Hostel level stuff might be pushing the line. No nudity. Keep cussing to a minimum, shits, damns, BASTARDS, crap, etc. are generally OK, but no one wants to hear you just dropping F-bombs for 5 minutes straight. Content will ALSO be judged in context of the video, cutting off someone's ear can be funny or it can be disturbing depending on how it's done. Something done for laughs in someone else's video might be judged inappropriate in another context, so keep that in mind. Drugs, almost all sexual content, and anything that we find particularly disturbing can result in your video being found inappropriate for the show, so try to keep that in mind.

3. No copyrighted music or content (That wasn't made by you). There are lots of musicians here on the forums that are offering their music for free, there are piles of public domain classical music that is awesome, and it's getting easier and easier to make your own music. So really, there is no excuse to have "Hit me baby one more time", bumping in the background while your chainsaw wielding psychopath is chasing your actors around. That's just not bad taste, it can also probably get you sued.

These are a general guideline to start off with, and we reserve the right to change these rules, add to these rules, or take away from these rules as deemed fit for the program.

So get to crackin'! Post your stuff below.

General submission format should be as follows...

-Submission-
Your Name: (The name you want to be credited as in the blog, it can be your YouTube handle if you don't want people knowing your real name.)
Your Short's Name: (If it has one, if it doesn't have one, don't just tell me "Untitled", make up something that makes sense for your short, I don't want 40 posts of "UNTITLED" because you don't want to call your short of Robot's massacring people "Robot Massacre".)
Link to Short: (I would prefer YouTube link, Vimeo, etc.)
Running Time: (How long is it? format should be MM:SS, so if your short is 3 minutes 45 seconds, tell me 03:45.)
Genre: (is your short a space opera? western? romantic comedy? horror? A combination of all of the above? Tell me.)
Content Advisory: (If any, nudity, language, gore, etc.)

-Optional-
Your Website: (link to your website, if you have one.)
Shot on: (what camera/'s did you shoot on?)
Edited with: (what'd you use to edit your short?)
Budget: (how much did it cost you?)

There you go! Post something that blows my eyeballs out of my head and you'll get on the blog this weekend!

P.S. - Post all submissions IN THIS THREAD, If you make a thread that says, "MY SUBMISSION FOR 5 MINUTE MOVIE HOUSE!!!!!!1" you will automatically be disqualified, and have your thread deleted. POST IN THIS THREAD. I will make weekly posts picking winners, announcing winners from last week, and opening and closing weekly submissions. If I want your video to appear on the blog, I will contact you directly and we'll talk further.

But one thing I forgot to mention, try to keep the thread clean, try to keep the "I AM GOING TO POST MINE SOON!" posts to a BARE MINIMUM.

I understand if, and hope that, people are going to be excited about this, but I want to keep the thread relatively straightforward so I don't have to scan through non-content posts to get to content posts.

well thats a reaally good idea so i have some wuestions is this thing going to be every week or month or just once??

Every Sunday, one video. If you enter, and I like your video, I can post it up anytime I want, even if I like something a little bit better than week, or if I want to break things up a little.

Like if I get only Sci-Fi or Horror submissions for three weeks straight, i'll maybe go back and dig up a good comedy submission from a few weeks prior just to keep the videos diverse content-wise.
